$65.00
1970’s Pegnoir robe by Undercover Wear in pink nylon with off white peekaboo lace. Pearlized buttons and ribbon. Vintage negligee, vintage lingerie, Boudoir photo shoot.
Measurements are Bust 36”, waist 26-34”, hips full Length 51”. Very good condition with fraying on the ribbon tie at top.
In 1975, Tiffany and Walter James opened “Tiffany’s Undercover Boutique” a Boston store specializing in lingerie and boudoir fashion. Soon the husband-and-wife team expanded their brick-and-mortar business by launching UndercoverWear. Capitalizing on the popularity of home shopping parties like Tupperware and Avon, UndercoverWear was the first to feature lingerie, pajamas and bedroom novelties. Now risqué items could be purchased in the privacy of your own home or the home of a friend. Thanks to the titillating concept, UndercoverWear became part of the zeitgeist of the early ’80s and the founders were featured on Phil Donahue, Oprah Winfrey, and profiled on the television show “Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous” with Robin Leach.
In 1985, UndercoverWear partnered with pin-up artist, Olivia De Berardinis to create original paintings featuring the company’s Lingerie Collections. Over 50 paintings were created and featured in the company’s catalog during those years. In 2014 UndercoverWear sold its Home Party Division. It was relaunched in 2018. Today, many of the items sold at those early parties are now widely sought by collectors.
I am listing many Vintage 1940-60's dresses the next couple of weeks so please favorite my new shop and check back often. I am also on Instagram as Wonderboutique413. I try to describe as accurately as possible and Vintage sizes have nothing to do with Modern ones so please pay attention to measurements when trying to decide if a piece will fit you. All of my clothing is true Vintage and in good to excellent clean condition although there may be slight mends that were made over the years and I try my best to mention any of those. Returns are only accepted if the item is not described properly.
