Antique Edwardian Christening or baptism gown. Hand sewn white cotton Batiste with beautiful delicate lace trim on sleeves and neckline, tiny pin tucking and embroidery on front and back. Label is for Stern Brothers Department store New York, Very good condition. I have soaked and cleaned it but there is still some light yellowing in spots that would probably come out with another soak. Chest 22", length 23".
This came out of an estate on Martha's Vineyard which had pieces going back to 1810! I have more that I am listing some of which were made in France for the US so please see all of my listings if you are looking for a truly special rare baby gown. Cross listing.
