1950s-60s Qipao Cheongsam Silk Dress w/ Short Sleeves and floral print in a Champagne color and would be a Modern Size Medium. The qipao (for Mandarin speakers)/cheongsam (for Cantonese speakers), is a dress that came into popularity in the 1920s in China. Adapted from mens military shirts, this dress symbolized a new modern women and was often paired with "Western" shoes and accessories. This dress was made in Hong Kong, likely for the tourist market. The piece has minor staining on the front (see picture three at waist) which may be removed by a professional cleaner. Bust 36", Waist 30", Hips 39", Length 40".
